On Tuesday night, the Hawarden Players met for the first time since the panto to have a read through of our next production which we are delighted to announce will be…
Agatha Crusty and the Village Hall Murders, written by Derek Webb.
This brilliantly funny murder mystery will be directed by Denise Garland and will take to the stage in July!

Another panto run comes to a close, and it’s safe to say Cinderella Rockafella was a smash hit!
Audiences packed out the Hawarden Institute for all 4 performances of this brand new (or should that be stone age) take on the pantomime classic, written by Fiona Burdsall, and directed by Kevin Dye. Two of shows were completely sold out, allowing our largest audience to date at the venue to witness, singing, dancing, puns – both hysteical, and groan inducing, costume changes, water squirting, and a panto cow disguised as a wooly mammoth!
The Players would like to thank all those behind the scenes that make the magic happen, and congratualtions to the entire cast, not least our new faces; Fiona, Rhiannon, Jenny and Rhys, who all made their debut with the group and were fantastic from start to finish!
We will be uploading a gallery of pictures soon from Cinderella Rockafella soon for you to have a look at. In the meantime, if you came to see the show, why not leave us your thoughts on our Facebook Page?
Up next it will be our summer play, watch this space for all the details!

Rehearsals are flying by for the Hawarden Players’ next production, ‘Gone to Pot’ which takes place later this month. Following the success of their winter pantomime, the ‘Ice Queen’, things are heating up, as their latest play transports us to an allotment where many secrets have been buried deep beneath the ground.
This home-grown comedy, written by group chairperson, Fiona Burdsall, introduces us to the head of the allotment committee, Brigadier Fortesque, who threatens to turf out anyone who lets standards slip on the gardening patch. His long suffering wife has competition from Lady Smythe-Warren who seems to share more than a passion for just growing vegetables with the Brigadier. Sharon struggles to control her kids from tormenting just about everyone, none more so than Annabelle, who just wants to start her own family, and just what are sisters Emily and Agnes hiding behind their shed door?
Fiona has created a script filled with laughs, drama and some lovely tender moments which the 11 strong cast are now putting their signature Hawarden Players mark on, and the set has already been built, bringing the outdoors, indoors!
Please visit our Purchase Tickets page to secure your seat before they sell out!
